VAL DOONICAN
Val Doonican (born Michael Valentine Doonican, 3 February 1928) was an Irish singer known for his relaxed crooner style.
From 1965 to 1986, he was a staple of BBC Television with The Val Doonican Show, featuring his own performances and a variety of guest artists.
Doonican enjoyed five successive Top 10 albums in the UK during the swinging sixties, with major hits like "Walk Tall," "Elusive Butterfly," and "If the Whole World Stopped Loving."
Notably, Jimmy Page played session guitar for Doonican on several singles in the 1960s, including “Walk Tall” (1964) and "I'm Gonna Get There Somehow" (1965), adding his signature sound even to mainstream pop tracks.
